Bringing Hygiene CARE Education Into Schools
We partner with schools across Los Angeles County to deliver paid in-school and after-school self-care hygiene programming, reaching students at sites including El Sereno Middle School, Los Angeles Valley College, CSUN, and PUC Triumph Charter Academy. Since December 2023, our school-based programming has reached over 160 students, building confidence and social-emotional skills alongside practical hygiene education tailored to each community's needs.
Community Impact Lab
Community Impact Lab: Youth-Led Change
Community Impact Lab is a trauma-informed, culturally responsive curriculum where students identify a social issue affecting their community, learn who it impacts, and build a real action plan through art-based expression, advocacy, or public presentation and civic-engagement projects. Using hygiene poverty as a recurring case study, students gain hands-on experience in civic engagement, critical thinking, leadership, and basic budgeting and resource-planning skills. Each participant completes the program with our interactive I CARE Shirt — a wearable, write-on shirt where they write their own reason for caring about the issue they chose to address. Past workshops have identified real needs in their neighborhoods, like a lack of public art and murals, and designed community-beautification action plans in response. We're expanding this program to reach approximately 200 students annually across partner sites in Los Angeles County.
*All programming is FREE to the community but is a paid service for all organizations that contact us to deliver programming.
